What he does for ESPN is drive one of their main production trucks and goes in early and sets up alot of the equipment. He works all the big events superbowl, daytona, final four etc. and stays within driving distance of home other than the big stuff. With the big 12 and all the pro teams around the DFW area it isn't to bad.
